This Epiphone Wildkat got dropped at a gig and suffered a broken neck. Luckily it was only a hairline break along the scarf joint – through the whole neck, but the fretboard held in place. A pair of Mahogany splines epoxied into routed channels did the trick, and she’s refinished, restrung, and back to work.
Just a couple more coats of clear then a good polish. Good as new – probably even stronger.
The client found this Hondo mandolin at the rubbish dump! It was in need of a good set-up and some love. The first photo shows that the bridge adjustment was bottoming out and preventing the string action from being lowered. By planing the underside of the saddle piece, clearance was achieved.
It’s a lovely instrument and is playing very nicely – quite the find at the local tip.
This Squier strat body was reshaped (basically chopped in half) to make it easier to play when mounted on a stand. The upper bout was removed, edge profile matched with the router, hand-cut custom scratch plate added, rewired with Vintage ’57 pick-ups & master tone control, and refinished to a pre-Nitrocellulose look.
